music is life, music is breath, music is us

Moby-“In My Heart”

Moby. Easily one of the most important figures in electronic music, especially from the 90’s. He faced controversy due to the criticism fellow electronic music composers gave him, namely that he was “watering-down” the genre. He also brought, in many ways, the genre to the front of the public consciousness in a previously unseen way. Here’s what I have to say, the man makes beautiful music, so why judge? Just enjoy it, that’s what it’s there for.

  1. The above video is blocked in GB due to copyright issues but I found it on YouTube OK. Have to say I wasn’t too keen but it takes all sorts….

I loved my time in music school. Loved studying, theory, performance, musicianship, concepts…. I never liked the competitive side regarding music there and the sometimes high brow, and kind of nasty, approach. Welcome to the real world ehh? I agree it is all music and should be taken for what it is.
