New Song:”Energy”

Hey everyone,

So, I’ve been busy lately. Turns out being a 4th year college student is insane, who would’ve thought? Anyways, one thing I have done is complete an extended-form composition for one of my classes. I based it off of some of the paintings of modern-day artist Renee Amitai, and it is called Energy. Check it out and see what you think, it’ll be the first post you see.

Peace to you,

  3. Thanks for the link to Energy. Sounds quite mature. What was the inspiration for it? What were you trying to accomplish?

  4. Hey Kurt,

Well, I wanted to take my sound for composition to a more complex level, namely in the way I layer instruments. I also wanted to have certain rhythmic passages that were difficult, but fit as an accompanying portion to choral harmony/melody. This is also the first piece I ever have written that utilizes pizzicato in a prominent way. Aside from the technical aspects, I really wanted to write something that flowed, that was like an force or energy. This is an essential element to extended form compositions.
