U2 releases new album “Songs of Innocence”

Well, didn’t expect that one. All iTunes users (including me) were surprised to find that U2’s newest album “Songs of Innocence” was released for free as a part of today’s Apple event. I usually only review up-and-coming artists here as opposed to bands I love that are well-established.

I’m making an exception here.

I just downloaded the LP and will review it here as soon as I can. In the meantime, freaking get the album!!!.

    • prelim review, I like it. Not a classic like Achtung Baby, but good.

      • Agreed. From the few songs I’ve sampled so far I’m pleasantly surprised.

I like the raw sound of it. I am not sure I like the way it was released. Nice to give it away, but, could further take money out of working musicians pockets. Not that bands like U2 need more money. I am sure Apple paid them heftily to whore their new iphone.

    • Way I see it, U2 made history. I just wonder if we got a time machine and went to 1987 when people were camping out for Joshua Tree how everyone’d react hearing the news of today lol.
